Description

Oil and Gas Law will examine the fundamental property, contract and regulatory elements pertaining to the leasing, developing, and financing requirements incidental to oil and gas production in the United States. The course will review the interplay between landowners, those involved in oil and gas exploration and production, and the regulators involved in oversight. Particular topics the course will explore include: (1) the oil and gas lease; (2) surface management; (3) royalties; (4) field management; (5) divided interests; and (6) drainage. This course will provide the baseline knowledge necessary for Advanced Oil and Gas.
