Description
The focus of the course is the study of the Supreme Court as an institution: how the justices shape their docket and decide the cases. The aim is to provide a thorough understanding of the Court's processes so that students may evaluate the way the justices do their work, what influences and pressures matter, when compromise is necessary and how that is accomplished, and what impact these factors have on substantive legal outcomes.
