We are located in suite 383. Our office hours are from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. If no one is in the office, please contact security in the main lobby and they can page a Facilities Management staff member.
The Facilities Management office is committed to servicing the Washington College of Law faculty, staff and students. To ensure the safety of WCL occupants, our team of trained building engineers, troubleshoot maintenance requests inside and outside the building. Our office also manages building security, parking room scheduling for meetings, make-up classes, exams and special events. We are also responsible for recycling and removal of bulk trash throughout the building.

Obtain an American University Identification Card
AU ID cards are processed at Anderson Hall, 1st floor on main campus, 4400 Massachusetts Ave, NW. The office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Once your identification card has been processed, please bring your card to the Facilities Management office to have the card coded for WCL building access.
Report Maintenance or Custodial Problems
Please email maintenance and cleaning requests and concerns to email@example.com or call extension 4357. Maintenance issues include safety hazards, malfunctioning building equipment, restroom problems, spills, trash pick up and so forth. You may also use this same email address if you needs keys made or have phone installation or repair requests. This email address may also be used for furniture assembly, carpentry, electrical, painting, heating and cooling, and plumbing requests. Please feel free to contact our office for any of the above mentioned issues.
Make a Room Reservation
All faculty, staff and student room resevations must be submitted on-line through EMS - events.wcl.american.edu Please note that email, phone, and walk-in request for space will not be accepted.
The WCL security desk is located in the main lobby on the first floor. For after hours assistance, pleas contact them at 202-274-4016. Visitors to the law school must check in and show a government issued ID card to the Security desk. The security staff can provide information about law school events, shuttle bus services, parking, garage hours, and general up-to-date information about WCL. For information on WCL school closing, dial (202)274-4400. For AU Main Campus closings dial (202)885-1100. WCL generally follows the same closing schedule as AU main campus.
Applications for parking are available online at https://www.wcl.american.edu/facilities/parking/. There are two designated lots for parking: WCL Garage located at 4801 Massachusetts Ave, NW 20016 and Yuma Street Garage located on Yuma Street between 48th and 49th streets underneath the Fresh & Greens parking lot. Faculty and staff are to park in the Yuma Street garage. Students are to park in the WCL Garage.
The AU parking policy stipulates the parking requirements of all American University students, faculty, and staff. In accordance with District of Columbia Zoning Order 949 and the university's "good neighbor" policy, parking is restricted on the streets surrounding the main campus, Tenley campus and the WCL campus. All members of the university community - including students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests are required to park at an AU parking facility or use public transportation when engaged at activities at the university. Faculty and full time staff who wish to drive to and from WCL must register their vehicle with the facilities office and purchase a parking permit.
At the Washington College of Law, there are two on-campus parking locations: Yuma street garage has spaces for faculty and full-time staff. The WCL Garage on Massachusetts Avenue is primarily for students and a limited number of reserved spaces for faculty. Due to limited space in the WCL garage, adjunct faculty are to park in the Yuma Garage. Adjunct faculty can pay to park in the WCL Garage if they prefer.
There is also a limited number of parking spaces available on the Fresh & Greens lot. All contract service staff are required to park on this lot with a valid permit purchased from the WCL Facilities Management Office, room 383. In addition, the Fresh & Greens Lot is available for parking if the Yuma garage gets full. Parking at all WCL locations is on a first come first serve basis. Additional campus parking is available on the AU main campus at the Katzen Art Center Garage.
Parking for offices located at the 4910 Massachusetts Avenue and 4301 50th Street is limited. See the Assistant Director of Facilities Management for more information.
All part-time and temporary employees are to park at the Fresh & Greens lot.
Complimentary parking arrangements are made for guest speakers, VIP, and special guests through the Facilities Management office by sending a request to firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of person/s, the date and time they are arriving, the event, and reason for complimentary parking.
