Discussion with David Frum
On March 1st, the Program on Law and Government hosted a fireside chat with David Frum, former Speechwriter for President George W. Bush and currently Senior Editor for the Atlantic Magazine. A graduate of Yale College and Harvard Law School, David has had a distinguished career in journalism and politics and is the author of “Trumpocracy: The Corruption of the American Republic.” Prof. Laguarda led the conversation, touching upon themes raised in the book about the rule of law, the origins of modern populism inside the Republican Party, threats to democratic norms of self-government, and the role of lawyers in responding to those threats. The event was co-sponsored by the WCL chapter of the Federalist Society.
