Fall Mini-Externship Fairs Connect Students with Employers in Business, Criminal Law, and Immigration

As part of the law school’s ongoing effort to assist students interested in growing practice areas, the Externship Program is sponsoring a series of mini-externship fairs again this fall. The fairs will connect upper level students with a wide range of employers – government agencies, nonprofit organizations, trade associations, courts, and firms working on pro bono matters – who are seeking externs and interns for upcoming semesters.

DACA Teach-In Provides Update on Immigration Policy

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, American University Washington College of Law hosted a “Rapid Response DACA Teach-In,” symposium where our faculty experts addressed the Administration’s decision to cancel the DACA program. Professors Steve Wermiel, Amanda Frost, and Jeff Lubbers were joined by Professor Fernando Laguarda, director of the Program on Law and Government, and Lisa Curtis from the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. The program was organized and moderated by Professor Cori Alonso-Yoder, practitioner-in-residence with the Immigrant Justice Clinic.
