American University Washington College of Law is hosting the sixth session of the Federal Trade Commission’s hearings on Competition and Consumer Protection in the 21st Century, Nov. 6-8, 2018. The hearings will focus on the role that data plays in competition, innovation, and privacy protection.

The Council on Legal Education Opportunity, a national organization founded in 1968 to expand opportunities for minority and low-income students to attend law school, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year through the CLEO EDGE Awards. The EDGE Awards celebrate individuals, law schools, and legal organizations that have championed Education, Diversity, and Greater Equality in the legal profession.

Four outstanding professors at American University Washington College of Law were honored Tuesday, Oct. 30 as winners of the annual AUWCL Teaching and Service Awards. Recipients were recognized for their innovative teaching and service both in and outside of the classroom.

Margaret Chon, Donald & Lynda Horowitz Professor for the Pursuit of Justice and former Associate Dean for Research at Seattle University School of Law, delivered American University Washington College of Law's 7th Annual Peter A. Jaszi Distinguished Lecture on Intellectual Property in the Public Interest Thursday, Nov. 8.

On Oct. 24, American University Washington College of Law and the ABCI Institute presented the XIV Symposium on International Trade, “Rule-based World Trade System Under Systematic Crisis."
