In a new article published in the Winter edition of the Ohio State Law Journal, Professor Lindsay Wiley, director of American University Washington College of Law’s Health Law and Policy Program, discusses how states are able to pioneer the push for single-payer, universal health care by expanding Medicaid to benefit residents.

Congratulations to American University Washington College of Law 3L Moot Court Honor Society members Lauren Mattioni and Elliot LaParne, who are the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Regional Champions for the Saul Lefkowitz Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition.

On Feb. 6, 2019, American University Washington College of Law’s Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law hosted “Law Enforcement Through the Human Rights Lens,” a discussion on how courts determine a police officer's use of force, how these cases are investigated, why outcomes tend to favor police officers, and how lethal police force in the U.S. is viewed through international human rights standards.

On January 25, over 25 coaches and 60 students participated in the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property's 2019 IP & Technology Career Counseling & Speed Networking event. Practicing alumni were matched with students for one-on-one networking to give career advice, review resumes, and discuss internship opportunities.

American University Washington College of Law received an A+ for International Law, an A grade for Diversity, and an A- for Environmental Law in rankings released in the Winter 2019 edition of PreLaw Magazine.
