On Thursday, June 11 Professor Lindsay Wiley, director of the AUWCL Health Law and Policy Program, addressed the impacts of the global pandemic during “WCL Faculty Speaks: COVID-19 and Public Health Law.”

American University Washington College of Law professor and leading U.S. criminal law scholar Angela J. Davis provided expert legal insight into America’s ongoing racial injustices during a virtual roundtable discussion with Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) Friday, June 5.

Congratulations to Natalie M. Koss ’03, elected to the D.C. Bar Board of Governors. Koss, a member of the D.C. Bar for over 15 years, is managing partner of Potomac Legal Group PLLC.

AUWCL’s Immigrant Justice Clinic was a key reason Shazreh Khan ’20 and rising 3L Audrey Vorhees decided to Washington College of Law, and that passion to help others has extended through the global pandemic.

The times in which we find ourselves call for self-reflection and what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. referred to as self-purification. For many people, watching the public killing of George Floyd was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Trouble is, that back has been broken again and again, and yet we are still hopeful for a better day.
