Third year students Rashad Abelson and Merve Stolzman, and LL.M. student Emelie Kozak won the “Excellence in Research and Writing Advocacy Award” in the 2015 Clara Barton International Humanitarian Law Competition.

Two AUWCL teams organized by and representing the Transactional Law Society were successful in the regional rounds of the National Transactional LawMeets Drafting and Negotiation Competition.

Prospective students, current dual JD students, and LL.M. alumni enjoyed dinner with Dean Claudio Grossman at Sir Winston during a reception for members of the AUWCL community living in Paris.

AUWCL signed a cooperative agreement with the Defensoría Penal Pública de Chile (DPP), the Chilean Public Defender’s Office, to begin a series of collaborative projects to promote equal protection under the law, due process and the dignity of criminal defendants in Chile.

American University Washington College of Law is pleased to host the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) for two cutting-edge trainings this spring, “Writing Persuasive Briefs” held March 12-13 and “Persuasive Power in the Courtoom” held April 2-3.
