On Feb. 12 – 14, 2016, American University Washington College of Law’s mock trial honor society scored another victory, adding to the team’s impressive performance this academic year. Competing against 18 student teams from 11 law schools in D.C., Md., and Va. in the 2016 National Trial Competition Regional Tournament, 3L Justin Nemeroff and 2L Kara Simmons won all of their judges’ ballots through five rounds of competition. Nemeroff was also awarded Best Advocate in the final round.

Dean Claudio Grossman hosted an event for alumni and newly admitted students in New York City on February 24. 

American University Washington College of Law has concluded its inaugural National Health Law Writing Competition. The competition, designed to encourage law students to write scholarly papers on current topics of interest relevant to health law, received numerous entries from student scholars across the nation. 

American University Washington College of Law’s Jessup Moot Court team shined at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition Mid-Atlantic regional round, which took place on February 11-14, 2016.

On Feb. 10-11, 2016, the Brazil-U.S. Legal & Judicial Studies Program at American University Washington College of Law, McLarty Associates, and the Instituto Justiça e Cidadania jointly hosted a symposium titled “Legal Aspects of Agribusiness: Brazil, the United States and China.”
