American University Washington College of Law congratulates our alumni who have been awarded the title of “Washington, D.C.’s Best Lawyers” by Washingtonian Magazine. 

On Wednesday, Jan. 24, over 150 organizations participated in American University Washington College of Law’s Spring Externship Fair. This annual event creates opportunities for students to network, interview for externships, and learn about a wide range of practice areas. The Externship Fair, organized by AUWCL’s Externship Program, is the largest single-school legal externship fair of its kind in the country, and many students obtain externships directly as a result of having attended the event. 

In January 2018, American University Washington College of Law students interested in refugees, human rights, and immigration law took advantage of the opportunity, made available through the law school's International Refugee Assistance Project, to visit Amman, Jordan, as part of an alternative winter break. 

During the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend, Ericha Penzien represented the American University Washington College of Law Transactional Law Society (TLS) in Baylor Law School’s “The Closer” National Transactional Law Competition. Only schools who have previously excelled at the National Transactional LawMeet® were invited to compete.

On Wednesday, Jan. 17, the law school held its 19th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Commemoration Program. Dean Camille Nelson along with faculty, staff, and students gathered to celebrate the life and enduring legacy of Dr. King.
