International Suite Talks: Roushani Mansoor

Roushani Mansoor is a Senior Advisor for the U.S. Special Envoy for Afghan Women, Peace, and Human Rights. Prior to this role, she served as a Women, Peace, and Security Policy Advisor in the Secretary’s Office for Global Women’s Issues and as a Justice Advisor for the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement where she provided technical assistance for INL justice sector programming. Prior to joining the State Department, Roushani was a Special Legal Assistant for the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs in Bangladesh, implementing several rule of law reform projects.

Roushani received her BA in International Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley, her JD from Washington College of Law, and her MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from the School of International Service.

Mock Trial Honor Society Spring Qualifying Tournament (SQT)

Sign up for the Mock Trial Honor Society Spring Qualifying Tournament (SQT) HERE. SQT is the official try out for MTHS. SQT is open to Full-Time 1L & 2L’s as well as Part-Time 1Ls,2Ls, & 3Ls. SQT consist of 2 days. On day 1 competitors are required to give a 5-Minute closing argument. At the conclusion of day 1 competitors will be told if they advanced to day 2. During day 2 competitors are required to conduct a 4-Minute Direct Examination as well as the best 1-Minute from their Closing Argument. In order to answer any questions/help with preparation MTHS will be hosting information sessions as follows: Wednesday, January 26 at 9:00 PM: on Zoom (email MTHSRecruitment@gmail.com for link) Wednesday, February 2 at 12:00 PM: in person (room TBD)* Monday, February 7 at 5:30 PM: in person (room TBD)* In addition to the info sessions, we will be hosting drop-in office hours. Feel free to stop by at anytime during these windows to ask questions, practice your closing and/or direct, hangout, or come say hi!: Thursday, January 27 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: on Zoom (email for link) Monday, January 31 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM: in person (room TBD)* Wednesday, February 9 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM: in person (room TBD)* *in person for now, but will be moved to Zoom in accordance with school policy if need be.
