Gideon’s Promise is an organization dedicated to assuring that every individual facing criminal charges receives adequate legal representation regardless of economic status. For the last five years, WCL has participated in Gideon’s Promise’s “Law School Partnership”—a program that provides top-notch training and places graduates in public defender offices across the South. The defender offices guarantee that within the first year, the graduate will be moved into a full-time position. More information is at http://www.gideonspromise.org/programs/lspp. Join us for lunch and a conversation with WCL Professor Angela Davis and a Gideon's Promise alumnus from WCL and learn more about this program.
