15th International Commercial Arbitration Annual Lecture: Seven Dirty Tricks to Disrupt Arbitral Proceedings and the Responses of International Arbitration Law

The Washington College of Law Annual International Commercial Arbitration Lecture, provides a public forum to present and discuss current issues and trends in international Commercial and Investment arbitration. The 2005 inaugural lecture was presented by Gerald Aksen and since then on, has featured the world’s foremost experts in international commercial and investment arbitration.

The Arbitration Annual Lecture seeks to contribute to the development of scholarship and honor individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field. 
This year’s lecture will be presented by Professor Emmanuel Gaillard, Head of International Arbitration, Shearman & Sterling and Visiting Professor, Yale Law School and Harvard Law School. The lecture is sponsored by Arnold & Porter. Media Partner is TDM. Registration is required.

Resolving Complex Business & Family Law Disputes Through Mediation & ADR

Attorney Ellice Halpern, founder of Little Falls Mediation, has an active and robust practice helping businesses and families resolve complex financial and personal disputes through mediation. Join Ellice and WCL’s Office of Development & Alumni Relations as we unpack the various forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (arbitration, adversarial/competitive negotiation/interest-based negotiation, mediation, and collaborative law) and assess how they compare to traditional litigation.

In her presentation, Ellice will walk us through various business- and family-law scenarios and dispute resolution techniques, and will also discuss the business aspects of her practice; her time spent mediating court-referred cases at Multi-Door Dispute Resolution in DC Courts; and her experience teaching ADR courses at GMU Scalia Law School.
