E-Verify & Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting
February 22, 2011
12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
American University Washington College of Law
4801 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, 6th Floor Lounges
Please join us for a panel discussing the use of e-verify by employers and the possible implications of the forthcoming Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting decision on state and United States Immigrations and Customs Enforcement policies.
The Whiting case challenges an Arizona law that imposes penalties on businesses that employ workers that are not lawfully authorized to work in the U.S. and mandates that all employers in the state to participate in an employment verification database system, E-Verify, that is explicitly voluntary under federal law.
