Professor Dinerstein Honored by Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities

On Wednesday, Nov. 9, Professor and Associate Dean for Experiential Education Robert Dinerstein received an award from the Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities, Inc. (QT), “in appreciation [of his] leadership, guidance and commitment to Quality Trust’s Board of Directors and people with disabilities in the District of Columbia for 15 years.” Professor Dinerstein, who directs the law school’s Disability Rights Law Clinic, was on the founding board of directors of Quality Trust and served as board chair from 2001-January 2016. AUWCL has co-hosted a number of Quality Trust conferences on its campus over the years - most recently last month - and a number of our students have completed externships there, including over the last two summers and in the current semester.

The organization is the pre-eminent disability organization focusing on supported decision making as an alternative to guardianship, a long-time scholarly and practical interest of Professor Dinerstein. See more about his work, and other recognition, on his faculty bio or SSRN page.
