Professor David Spratt Elected to Board of Governors for the Virginia State Bar Section on Education of Lawyers

American University Washington College of Law Professor David H. Spratt was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Governors for the Virginia State Bar Section on Education of Lawyers.
This section, the first of its kind in the country, brings together law deans and professors, members of the judiciary, and practicing lawyers in a collaborative effort to improve every phase of legal education.
Among other tasks, the section has cosponsored innovative CLE programs in collaboration with law schools, including a Legal Writing Workshop created by Professor Spratt in Spring 2016. This workshop, developed in direct response to observations and recommendations about lawyer communication skills, travels to different locations in Virginia and Washington, D.C., each year. The fifth annual Legal Writing Workshop, sponsored by the section, Virginia CLE, and AUWCL’s Legal Rhetoric Program, will be held at AUWCL on April 24, 2020.
