Issues surrounding immigration become more and more salient in today’s political headspace. AUWCL’s online course, “Introduction to U.S Immigration Law,” offers a look behind the legal structures that generate immigration policy, enforce deportation, process visas, and protect human rights. Led by Professor Jayesh Rathod, and co-taught by experienced immigration law practitioner Tina Goel, this online course will also address how new immigration policies will affect the existing infrastructure.

Rathod, who serves as associate dean for experiential education and directs the Immigrant Justice Clinic at the law school, has worked on projects on the intersection of immigration, criminal justice, labor rights and human rights. His continued work reflects the growing impact of immigration issues on other legal fields.

The course begins February 10, 2020, and participants will earn a certificate upon completion.
