American University Washington College of Law congratulates Associate Dean of Student Affairs David Jaffe, who received the Peter Kutulakis Award from the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Section on Student Services last week at the annual AALS Meeting in New Orleans.

The Peter Kutulakis Award recognizes outstanding contributions of administrators and law teachers in the provision of service to students.

This is the second time Jaffe has received the accolade.

The award recipient is chosen by the AALS Student Services Executive Committee. In announcing the award, the committee said they were unanimous in their selection of Jaffe and thanked him for his “outstanding contributions to the service of students.”

“Throughout your career, you have been a tireless advocate for students in other institutions of the bar and the legal community, and brought national focus to the issues of students struggling with alcohol, substances and mental health issues,” the committee said. “We are pleased to honor you for your important work and contributions to the ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs and as host of the upcoming 2019 NALSAP conference.”
