On March 7-8, 2019, American University Washington College of Law’s Brazil-U.S. Legal and Judicial Studies Program hosted its Fifth Annual Conference of Brazilian and American Judges, entitled “Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and the Law.”

On Tuesday, March 5th, American University Washington College of Law hosted "A Panel Discussion on National Security, Intelligence, and Cyber Security," moderated by Professor Fernando Laguarda with a special appearance from member of the House Permanent Select Committee of Intelligence, Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT).

On Monday, March 4, American University Washington College of Law welcomed premier First Amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams to campus for a “Free Speech Celebration.”  

On Feb. 22, 2019, American University Washington College of Law’s Health Law and Policy hosted “The Opioid Crisis: Rethinking Policy and Law," bringing together leading experts from across the country in the fields of public policy, law, economics, medicine, public health, law enforcement, and emergency response to re-imagine policies and laws related to the opioid epidemic.

For the second consecutive year, American University Washington College of Law has won first place in the Mid-Atlantic regional round of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, held Feb. 14-17 at AUWCL.
