What's Working in the 116th Congress

02:00PM - 05:30PM Tenley Campus - Capital C116 Weinstein Courtroom

The American University Legislation & Policy Brief is hosting a symposium on April 12, highlighting recent bipartisan legislative victories to show that, despite the popular narrative, Congress is still working.  The Brief feels strongly about counterbalancing conversations on Congressional polarization with evidence of real, substantive areas of bipartisan victories.  They keynote address will be delivered by Ruth Marcus, columnist for the Washington Post and Sine Institute Fellow. The first panel will discuss the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and extenders, and the second panel will discuss the politics of congressional oversight and investigations.
