National Security Law Brief Fall Symposium - Public Private Partnerships: How the National Security Community Interacts with Private Sector
This symposium will examine the interrelation between the private sector and the federal government in the national security field, and discuss the ways in which they work together, via public private partnerships. In the Symposium's first panel, experts in privacy policy, counter-terrorism and social media will examine government and private sector cooperation in both a domestic and European context, in light of recent developments such as Russian troll factories utilizing Facebook ads, ISIS utilizing social media, and recent decisions on data privacy in the European Union. As our Keynote Speaker, Cyber-security Expert and Former DHS Cyber-security Advisor Merritt Baer will address topical issues in the field. Finally, a panel featuring experts from intelligence, financial regulation, and private practice will examine how similar public private partnerships function in keeping our financial services sector secure, in light of recent data breaches as the SEC, Equifax, and Deloitte.
