Law Student Pro Bono Training: The Washington Lawyers’ Committee Worker's Rights Clinic

The Washington Lawyers’ Committee holds a regular Workers’ Rights Clinic where low-income workers with employment law problems can have a one-on-one consultation. Under supervision, law student intake volunteers interview workers about their workplace issues and work with experienced employment attorneys to relay advice to workers.

Law Student Pro Bono Training: Capital Area Immigrants' Rights Coalition (CAIR)

CAIR Coalition is a non-profit striving to ensure equal justice for all immigrant adults and children at risk of detention and deportation in the Capital Region and beyond. Volunteers support this mission through a variety of remote opportunities:

  • Volunteering on the CAIR's Detention Hotline (M-F 9am-5pm) to help detainees access legal services by connecting callers with our staff and delivering follow-up messages relating to individual cases.
  • Translating court documents
  • Providing live interpretation of phone calls between CAIR Coalition attorneys and their clients.
