On the Docket: Looking Ahead at the New Supreme Court Term

With several critical issues not being addressed the previous year, this upcoming term is sure to be full of consequential rulings and developments of the law. This annual event, moderated by WCL Professor Steve Wermiel, brings in Supreme Court experts to discuss those hot button issues that the Court is likely to address in the upcoming term. We cordially invite you to join us on September 27, 2019, in celebrating the legacy and success of Professor Schwartz, who has dedicated his career to expanding civil rights internationally along with the developing a new generation of attorneys dedicated to justice. This day long symposium honors the contributions Professor Schwartz has made to the legal community, as well as discuss the progress made in civil and human rights over the past 50 years.

Oversight & Accountability: Who Watches the Government?

Join the Program on Law and Government at American University Washington College of Law and hear award-winning Washington Post columnist and author Bob Woodward address the importance of government oversight and accountability and celebrate the launch of a new student publication (“oversightproject.org”) focused on the work of federal oversight, accountability and ethics watchdogs. Featuring remarks from AU President Sylvia Matthews Burwell, former House Oversight and Government Reform Chair Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), and DOJ Inspector General (and Chair of the Council of Inspector Generals for Integrity and Efficiency) Michael Horowitz.
