Shared Voices: Utilizing Anti-Racist Pedagogy to Transform Communities and Schools (Day 3)

 American University’s School of Education proudly hosts its second Summer Institute on Education, Equity & Justice (SIEEJ) conference on June 27-29, 2019 at American University Washington College of Law. The theme of this year’s conference is “Shared Voices: Utilizing Antiracist Pedagogy to Transform Communities and Schools,” featuring keynote speakers Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole, and Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, Dr. Bettina Love, and Matthew Kay.

SIEEJ was developed in 2018 to provide professional development opportunities for community members, particularly educators, who want to learn promising practices that lead to equitable educational outcomes for underserved students, families, and communities.

 This year's SIEEJ co-sponsors are the American University Washington College of Law and Anti-Racist Research and Policy Center.

As the bar exam comes closer, this is a perfect time for studying students to take a break, relax, play some games and eat snacks.

Office of Academic Excellence: Mock Bar Exam

08:30AM - 04:30PM Tenley Campus - Yuma Y400 Large Classroom

The Office of Academic Excellence is administering a 2-day mock bar exam at AUWCL on July 18th & 19th in Y400. Bar takers, from all jurisdictions, are invited to participate in this exercise. Participants will experience writing essays, performance tests, and answering multiple-choice questions under timed conditions. Essay and MBE answers will be available for self-scoring at the end of each day. Please find a breakdown of each days schedule below:

Daily Morning Session: 9am-12pm (estimated)
Daily Lunch Hour: 12pm-1:00pm (lunch not provided)
Daily Afternoon Session: 1:30pm-4:30pm (estimated)

Please arrive to room Y400 by 8:30am to receive your materials. The exam will promptly start at 9am.

Registration is required by Monday July 1, 2019.
