L.I.F.T. Alumni Mentoring - Information Session for Alums
The Office of Academic Excellence will host a brief informational session about the 2021-2022 L.I.F.T. program, WCL’s alumni bar exam mentoring program. L.IF.T. (Lead, Inform, Foster, Transform) pairs alumni-mentors with student-mentees primarily based upon bar exam jurisdictions, but we will also seek to align areas of practice, professional interests, and location. Throughout the program students may seek advice on jurisdiction selection, practice, bar prep, and your experiences preparing for the bar exam. This is not a substantive tutoring role, but one of mentorship and encouragement.
Join us to talk about the time commitment and scope of the program. Interested alums are asked to apply by September 17. If you have any questions about the event or the program, please contact Meg Lee at melee@wcl.american.edu.

Montgomery County Summer Scholars Pipeline Program Information Session
OCPD will be hosting an information session on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from noon – 1:00 PM to highlight Montgomery County’s Summer Scholars Pipeline Program. This program partners with the Montgomery County Bar Foundation, specialty bar associations, local law firms and regional law schools to identify 15 second year law students to compete for up to 11 summer intern positions within participating Montgomery County law firms. The selected students will be hired for summer internships with the hopes that their experiences will create a pipeline for a diverse group of talented soon-to-be-lawyers who might eventually join the ranks of Montgomery County practitioners. By the same token, it is our sincere hope that the Program might serve to further the diversity of our community at all levels and in all respects.
Register on CareerLink.
