In commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM), American University Washington College of Law is honored to host the annual Hispanic Law Conference. Started in 1997, this regional conference brings together a unique mix of leaders devoted to the advancement of and justice for the Latino/a/x communities in the United States and abroad. 
In partnership with the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia (HBA-DC), Latino/a Alumni Association of the Washington College of Law (LAAW), and Latino/a Law Students’ Association (LaLSA).

PEEL Alumni Environmental Justice Practitioner Panel & Mentoring Break-Out Sessions

 In coordination with the Program on Environmental and Energy Law (PEEL), ELS is hosting a PEEL Alumni Environmental Justice Practitioner Panel on Wednesday, October 14 from 5:45 PM to 6:45 PM via Zoom.  Following the panel, there will be 2 fifteen-minute mentoring break-out sessions led by each alumni panelist: 1) 6:50 PM to 7:05 PM, and 2) 7:10 PM to 7:25 PM.  During the break-out segment, students will be assigned to a break-out room and have the opportunity to ask career-related questions, or just have a meaningful conversation.

 

Overall, this event will provide students interested in community lawyering and environmental social justice issues an opportunity to connect with alumni in this field.
