2018 Pathways to Gender Equality Conference: Economic Gender Analysis Addressing Current and Future Challenges

The 2018 Pathways to Gender Equality Conference will be held on November 2-3, in Washington, DC. The conference brings together scholars, policy experts, advocates, and lawmakers who recognize the centrality of gender analysis in solving major economic challenges that confront us today. 

The conference is hosted by the Program on Gender Analysis in Economics (PGAE) of the Department of Economics at American University and the Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR), funded with the generous support of the Open Society Foundations (OSF)

International Law Conference on Reparation to Individuals for Violations of International Human Rights Law and International Humanitarian Law

International human rights law and international humanitarian law have embraced the principle of reparation and even expanded traditional mechanisms of reparation in response to the nature of the violations.  The treatment of reparation to individuals in these fields is extensive yet varied.  The purpose of this event is to explore the topic of “reparation to individuals for violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law” both theoretically and practically.   The goals is to identify contentious points and points of agreement in the international legal community in order to promote development in this important area of international law.  The panels are composed of prominent members of the international legal community and will cover general principles of reparation, reparation in the universal and regional systems, reparation under human rights law and humanitarian law, and reparation in transitional justice.   More information to come!
