Fireside Chat with Mignon Clyburn

12:00PM - 01:30PM Tenley Campus - Yuma YT01-01 Grossman Hall

Join Mignon Clyburn, former FCC Chair and prominent FCC commissioner, for a fireside chat on the state of the FCC, and where it is headed. Given Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Ajit Pai’s current deregulatory agenda, many are concerned how the FCC will keep true to its top priority set out in the Communications Act—to make sure all Americans have "affordable, efficient, and effective" access to communications services. Topics that will be discussed include: net neutrality; consumer protection issues ranging across phone, cable, and internet; bridging the digital divide; unjust inmate calling rates; media ownership diversity; 5G deployment; and innovation and technology in the telecommunication industry. All WCL Faculty, Students, and Alumni are encouraged to attend. Registration is free but required. Food will be provided for those who register.
