ABA Pathways to Employment in International Law

As part of International Week 2018, International and Comparative Legal Studies and the American Bar Association Section of International Law will host a diverse group of accomplished practitioners in international law. Their expertise ranges from international trade and arbitration, to promoting the rule of law and democracy, and acting on behalf of the US Government. The speakers will share their experiences and advise JD and LLM students on how to pursue an interesting and successful career in international practice. Reception to follow.

REIF FELLOWSHIP in Legal Ethics and Professional Values is sponsored by the Law Firm of Epstein, Becker and Green and grants a substantial monetary award to the WCL student who submits the best essay on an important question of ethics and/or values confronting the legal profession today.

Professional Development: Relationship Building and Boundaries

As law students, you are gathering the knowledge and experience you need to enter the legal workplace as a great lawyer.  The Women & the Law Program wants to make sure you are prepared to enter the workplace as a confident, self-aware, and ambitious professional.  Through workshop-style trainings, you will gather hard and soft skills you need to succeed in your first job after graduation.  

Our second event is Relationship Building and Boundaries. We will discuss anxieties around the varying power dynamics in professional relationships, and take a deeper dive into the research, asking, and maintenance of mentor relationships.
