Elections at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights: The Independent Panel of Experts Presents its Final Report on the Candidates
Join us for a timely discussion about important developments and new opportunities to improve the processes by which human rights judges and commissioners are nominated and elected to regional human rights systems. In particular, panelists will discuss its seminal report on the 2019 candidates to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. The report builds on efforts by civil society to advocate for the improvements that make the nominations and elections of commissioners and judges transparent, inclusive, and representative and that promote the most suitable candidates. Lunch will be served. This event is co-sponsored by the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. Please RSVP to humlaw@wcl.american.edu
