Due to the COVID-19 emergency the English for Lawyers Program is offered online this summer. The Program is designed to introduce foreign legal practitioners and incoming LL.M. students to legal English and the US legal system. It includes seven online meetings and lengthier offline assignments. Through lectures, written assignments and in-class exercises, participants whose native language is not English will practice a variety of skills ranging from legal reading to writing strategies. Lectures will focus on the fundamentals of US law and basic legal, contract and business vocabulary.
Our digital classrooms will allow for face-to-face collaboration with classmates and lecturers in real time, using a variety of features including small group break-out rooms and live chats. In addition, you will complete self-paced, engaging coursework that you can access 24/7 on our convenient online platform.
This year, WCL is offering a 10 percent discount for both the certificate and credit options for summer courses. The fee above reflects the discount.
Participants must be practicing lawyers or law students who are at a high intermediate to advanced level of English. We do not require the TOEFL or other English assessment.
