2021 Online English for Lawyers Programs

Fall Semester 2021: October 16 - October 31, 2021
Registration is OPEN NOW until October 1, 2021

The Program is designed to introduce foreign legal students and practitioners, and incoming LL.M. students to legal English and the U.S. legal system. Participants must have some proficiency in English; however, we do not require the TOEFL.

The Program includes six online meetings and many offline assignments. Through lectures, written assignments and in-class listening and speaking exercises, participants whose native language is not English will practice a variety of skills, ranging from legal reading and writing strategies to advocacy skills. Lectures will focus on U.S. legal culture and the U.S. judicial system with a focus on legal terminology and pragmatics that will expose students to customs and conventions around lawyering, legal training, and the legal profession in the United States.

Our digital classrooms will allow for face-to-face collaboration with classmates and lecturers in real time, using a variety of features including small group breakout rooms and live chats. In addition, you will complete self-paced, engaging coursework that you can access 24/7 on our convenient online platform.

Certificate of Attendance

Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion of the English for Lawyers course.
