American University Washington College of Law Receives A+ Ranking in Business Law from preLaw Magazine

American University Washington College of Law’s Business Law Program is pleased to announce that it once again received the top A+ ranking for Business Law from preLaw Magazine in its new rankings for Fall 2021, joining Harvard Law and a select group of leading law school business law programs for the second year in a row in preLaw’s rankings.

AUWCL was one of only fourteen law schools to receive an A+ designation, and the Business Law Program’s groundbreaking Virtual Currency Law course was one of five law school business law initiatives to receive a special mention from preLaw in an article accompanying the rankings. The article highlighted the Business Law Program’s addition of a new virtual currency law course to AUWCL’s curriculum in Spring 2021. This course is one of a number of cutting-edge initiatives establishing AUWCL as a leader in fostering a deeper understanding of the emerging law, regulation and policies governing transformative financial technologies. The PreLaw article noted:

American University Washington College of Law offered a new course in virtual currency this past spring. It is one of only a few law school courses in the country devoted to exploring the legal and regulatory framework governing virtual currency. Beginning with Bitcoin in 2008, virtual currency has quickly exploded into a new financial ecosystem of non-government based legal tender.”

PreLaw’s recognition of this course highlights the Business Law Program’s broad range of ongoing initiatives related to emerging virtual currency law issues.
