Loren C. Ponds is a Member at Miller & Chevalier in Washington, D.C. Ms. Ponds centers her practice on providing strategic counsel to clients on tax matters, including legislative, regulatory, and other policy issues, as well as advising on technical tax matters related to transfer pricing and other international tax topics.

Ms. Ponds advises clients on the impact of tax policy, and issues related to administrative guidance, legislative amendments, and technical corrections to tax laws and rules. In addition, Ms. Ponds advises clients on Advance Pricing Agreements, mutual agreement procedure negotiations, and international tax controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service.

Prior to joining Miller & Chevalier, Ms. Ponds served as Majority Tax Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means, where she developed, analyzed, and refined the international tax provisions of the 2017 Tax Funds and Jobs Act. Fluent in French and German, Ms. Ponds also previously worked abroad as Ernst & Young LLP’s Global Transfer Pricing Operations Manager.

Ms. Ponds has an A.B. from Davidson College, a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law (’02), and an LLM (Tax) with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center.
