PIJIP Senior Research Analyst Andrés Izquierdo Invited to Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs

PIJIP’s Senior Research Analyst Andres Izquierdo was invited to an informative session on artificial intelligence (AI) at Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the session, Andres provided updates on WIPO's current work on AI and presented PIJIP’s research paper on TDM by Flynn et al.
Attendees included government officials from various departments, including the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (the Industrial Property Office), the National Planning Department, and the Mission of Colombia to the United Nations in Geneva. Attendees expressed interest in collaborating on the CONPES (Draft of National Policy on AI and digital technologies), incorporating international AI initiatives from WIPO and ITU, and reviewing TDM provisions in comparison with Colombian copyright legislation. A follow-up session is planned for the upcoming weeks.
