Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property

On September 17, PIJIP's Sean Flynn and Michael Palmedo submitted joint comments with six other scholars to the Canadian government consultation on "A Modern Copyright Framework for AI and the Internet of Things."

PIJIP is one of the six civil society groups hosting the Global Congress's online event this fall - Intellectual Property, the Public Interest and Covid-19: Learning, Discoveries and Challenges. 

PIJIP is pleased to announce that effective August 4th, 2021, it has assumed stewardship of the Low Carbon Patent Pledge, in partnership with the Program on Intellectual Property Law and Policy at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law.

Prof. Sean Flynn's chapters, written with Loyola University of Chicago Professor Matthew Sag, describe how copyright law and technological protection measures can impact the rights of researchers utilizing text-mining and datamining in their work.

This week, Members of the Global Expert Network on Copyright User Rights will testify to South Africa’s Parliament in support of the Copyright Amendment Bill [B13-2017]. The legislation will update the 1979 law, including sections on limitations and exceptions.

The Fellowship is a 16-month program of study and research, beginning August 2021. It is intended for law students interested in pursuing a career in the filed of international copyright law.
