Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property

PIJIP is co-organizing a week of debates on copyright and access to knowledge in South Africa the week of January 23rd, with a coalition of three university groups and four civil society organizations. 

PIJIP's Senior Fellow Kathryn Kleiman discussed her book Proving Ground with Alan Alda on his podcast Clear and Vivid.

PIJIP Faculty Director Christine Haight Farley has written a guest post for the TTABlog, which reports cases heard by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Charles Duan will join WCL as Assistant Professor with a teaching and research interest in Patent Law. Duan previously worked at PIJIP as a Senior Policy Fellow, designing and managing research projects at the intersection of intellectual property and public interest policy.

PIJIP is pleased to announce the publication of a joint academic opinion on text and data mining and copyright reform by Science Magazine.

PIJIP and the University of Amsterdam's Institute for Information Law (IViR) will host an upcoming conference to discuss models that international copyright law could use to enable cross border uses of research materials.
