ABA Accreditation Site Visit Scheduled for March 22–25
Representatives from the American Bar Association will visit campus March 22-25 as part of WCL’s decennial re-accreditation process.
AU Washington College of Law is accredited by the American Bar Association and the American Association of Law Schools. We will undergo a mandatory site inspection by our accreditors from March 22 to March 25. This visit will evaluate whether WCL meets the ABA Standards and Rules of Procedure for Approval of Law Schools. These inspections occur every 10 years and include reviews of law school policies and procedures, faculty, faculty scholarship, faculty and student services, the law school’s physical facilities, and library resources and services. Members of the site team may meet with students, student government leaders and groups, faculty, and senior administrative staff during their visit. They will also briefly attend selected classes.
Students are invited to participate in this process during a student listening session on Monday, March 23, at 4 pm in Grossman Hall (registration required). The sessions will be led by Site Team members, who will ask questions about the Law School’s compliance with the ABA Standards. All students are welcome to attend. An additional session for part-time/evening students will be held on Tuesday, March 24, at 5:00 pm in the Faculty Lounge (registration required). Topics may include the Law School’s legal education program and student services. Light refreshments will be available at both sessions.
Students can contact the ABA Site Team directly. Comments are sent to the Site Team chair and are anonymous.
