Robert Dinerstein is professor of law, director of the clinical program (1988-96 and 2008-present), associate dean for experiential education (2012-present) and director of the Disability Rights Law Clinic (2005-present) at AU's Washington College of Law, where he has taught since 1983. He was the law school's associate dean for academic affairs from 1997-2004. He specializes in the fields of clinical education and disability law, especially mental disabilities law (including issues of consent/choice, capacity and guardianship), the Americans with Disabilities Act, the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, legal representation of clients with mental disabilities, and disability and international human rights.

Kathleen Gordon has served for 9 years as the Associate Director of the highly-ranked AUWCL Clinical Program, where she manages the logistics and operations of the program’s 10 in-house clinics, which serve about 230 students per year, as well as serving as an adjunct instructor (Externship Program, Legal Writing: Contract Drafting). Prof. Gordon is particularly interested in nonprofit management, cultivating a public service ethic among law students and attorneys, and using technology to increase efficiency in the delivery of legal services, particularly to low-income and under-represented individuals and groups. Before coming to AUWCL, Prof. Gordon managed attorney recruitment and training programs for the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, where she also helped to develop and market legal resource websites for low-income D.C. residents and for pro bono attorneys in D.C. Prior to that, she was a commercial real estate associate at Shaw Pittman (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman) and a judicial clerk for the late Hon. Rudi M. Brewster, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of California. Prof. Gordon holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Davidson College and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
