Ryan Meister (3L)
Ryan Meister is a full-time 3L from Chicago, Illinois. He attended Michigan State University, receiving degrees in both International Relations and Political Science. At AUWCL, Ryan is Senior Staffer for the International Law Review and a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and the International Law Students Association. He's previously worked for our War Crimes Research Office. He is interested in International Human Rights Law, Humanitarian Law, and Administrative Law. Nick Mruk (3L)
Nick Mruk is a full-time 3L originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. Before law school, Nick graduated from NC State with degrees in both Political Science and Spanish. His current legal interests include Criminal Law, Federal Indian Law, and Transportation Law. Nick is also the current Vice President of the AUWCL Mock Trial Honor Society, and a Dean's Fellow for the Trial Advocacy Department. Claire Rigney (3L)
Clare Rigney is a full-time 3L at AUWCL. She graduated from Virginia Tech with majors in Multi-Media Journalism and Creative Writing. She is interested in First Amendment protection and Constitutional Law. On campus, she acts as the Creative Director for the Law Revue Musical, the Podcast Editor for the Human Rights Brief, and as a senior staffer on the Journal for Gender, Social Policy, and the Law. During Fall of 2026, she will be participating in the Disability Rights Law Clinic on campus. Outside of school, she enjoys writing and trying weird coffee flavors. Sara Upton (2L)
Sara Upton is a full-time 2L from Purcellville, Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. At AUWCL, Sara is the Executive Chair of the Energy Law & Policy Society as well as the Vice Chair of the Environmental Law Society. She also serves as Treasurer for ADVANCE, AUWCL's first-generation law student society, and as a junior staffer on Administrative Law Review. Sara has a wide range of legal interests, but she is most passionate about Environmental Law, regulatory work, and Intellectual Property Law pertaining to fashion and cosmetics. She is also interested in the convergence of these fields, especially the environmental impact and regulation of the fashion and cosmetic industries.
