
Nia Jackson is a second-year evening student at American University Washington College of Law, where she serves on the Blog Team for the National Security Law Brief and as a Dean’s Fellow for the Tech, Law, and Security Program. Her academic interests focus on the intersection of national security, technology, and international trade.
Outside of law school, Nia is a Senior Director at FTI Consulting in Washington, D.C., where she advises clients across the industrial, technology, energy, and financial services sectors on strategic communications, crisis management, and public affairs. Her work centers cross-border trade, government enforcement matters, and geopolitical risk.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Nia worked in public service and political communications, supporting the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Feed the Future Initiative, the Democratic Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives, and public affairs campaigns at SKDKnickerbocker. She earned her B.A. in Political Science with a minor in International Business from the University of South Florida. In her free time, she enjoys tennis, CrossFit, and reading science fiction.
