Description

The course examines international petroleum concessions, production sharing agreements, joint operating agreements, joint ventures, marketing, shipping, and dispute resolution. Current topics, such as oil prices and international issues, will be discussed.

Study assignments are attached, but are subject change with due to time constraints. Supplemental Materials will be distributed during the first class and periodically.

Class participation will be factored into the final grade. Students are expected to attend class on a regular basis. Those missing three or more classes shall be excluded from taking the final exam unless valid reasons are submitted.

Students are encouraged to ask constructive questions during class. I will be available by appointment, phone, e-mail and before or after class for questions. [Your email subject should be noted "WCLIPT" to avoid being deleted with the spam.]

In lieu of an examination, students will have the option to submit a paper pursuant to the requirements set out in "Term Paper Requirements" included in the supplemental handout materials.
