Description

Examines world wide and regional organizations concerned with international trade and public health policy in developed and less developed nations. These structures include the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the World Trade Organization, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and North American Free Trade Association. The role of non-profit organizations and multinational corporations will also be explored.

2. Be prepared to discuss the following: You are an associate with a law firm representing ABC, wholesale distributor of office supplies including #2 yellow lead pencils. Some of these are imported from China and some are manufactured in the US. Responding to recent concerns, both kinds have been tested and been found to contain high levels of lead in the yellow paint. A partner has asked you to discuss with her what legal rights and obligations ABC may have regarding pencils it has already distributed and those it will handle in the future. Is this a public health problem?
