    The Dean's Advisory Council meeting will be held Thursday night. The Council consists of leaders within many constituencies of AUWCL, including different areas of the law, academia, business, and the community. They will discuss programmatic developments, the progress on the new campus at Tenley, and more.

  • Delegation Travels to New Mexico to Work with Detainees

    AUWCL has sent a delegation of eight students and two faculty to New Mexico to work with detainees in the Artesia Temporary Facility for Adults with Children. Faculty leaders are Jayesh Rathod, director of the Immigrant Justice Clinic, and Rick Wilson, director of the International Human Rights Law Clinic. MORE

  • Dean Grossman Addresses UN General Assembly

    Dean Claudio Grossman, in his role as chair of the United Nations Committee against Torture (UN CAT), presented the Committee's annual address to the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday. Dean Grossman and Juan Mendez, UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, also participated in a panel on "Identifying and Overcoming Challenges to Ratification and Implementation of the UN Convention against Torture" presented by the Convention against Torture Initiative (CTI) and the government of Denmark. In addition, Dean Grossman met with the Secretary General of the UN. As part of this trip, Dean Grossman organized a dinner with select AUWCL alumni Monday evening to discuss new initiatives taking place at the law school, including the latest news about the Tenley Campus.     International Week is a week-long series of panels, workshops, and events at AUWCL. One highlight of the week is the Annual Embassy Reception on Wednesday, which is a great opportunity for students to network with ambassadors and staff from the local embassies, International Legal Studies Program alumni, local law firms, faculty, and staff.
