U.S. & International Anti-Corruption Summer Law Program Info Session

Description: The U.S. and International Anti- Corruption Law Program will be holding an information session for students on Thursday, February 6 at 12pm in room 402. Interested LL.M students and 2L & 3L JD students should RSVP to anticorruption@wcl. american.edu. The program will run from June 16- 20, 2014, and will offer an intensive, practical five-day program taught by prominent experts, including present and former U.S. and foreign government prosecutors, investigators for international organizations, law firm practitioners, and corporate counsel. Courses will focus on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the evolving international legal regime governing transnational bribery, how multilateral development institutions identify, investigate and mitigate corruption risk, the US anti- corruption legal and institutional framework and a new addition, corruption and human rights. A special track on the United Nations Convention against Corruption, now in force in over 170 countries, analyzes its provisions and their implementation, participation in the peer review mechanism, asset recovery and the impact of transnational law enforcement and enhanced legal assistance.
