Date: Monday, February 10, 2014
Time: 10:30AM - 12:20PM
Description: Around the world violence against women—including domestic violence and sexual harassment— affects the lives of millions of women, undermining their autonomy and posing obstacles to their economic empowerment. The World Bank’s “protecting women from violence” indicator examines the existence and scope of laws covering domestic violence and sexual harassment in 100 economies. It is a first step toward quantifying the global legislative framework on domestic violence and sexual harassment and offers comparable baseline data. Please join Professors Fernanda Nicola and Macarena Saez and the Women and the Law Program for a guest lecture on the importance and methodology behind the World Bank’s pilot indicator.
