Human Rights Lawyering on the State and Local Level in the United States

Description: This day-long conference is aimed at legal aid attorneys and juvenile public defenders interested in learning more about how to get involved with the growing movement to use human rights law in local and state advocacy in the U.S. Panels will range from clients and advocates sharing their experiences of fighting for human rights protections in the U.S., to a discussion of how to spread and strengthen the movement to use human rights law in local advocacy. This conference marks the official public launch of the Local Human Rights Lawyering Project’s training materials and other resources, including ‘Human Rights in the U.S.: A Handbook for Legal Aid Attorneys’.
