Wireless Infrastructure-Mode Configuration for Mac OS X
Click on the airport symbol near the top right of your screen. If your laptop is configured to host an ad-hoc network the symbol will look different than the normal airport signal, the pie shaped icon will be grey with a computer on it.
In the menu that appears, there will be a section headed with “Computer-to-Computer” networks. Uncheck anything if checked in this section of the menu. Check where it says “wcl” to connect to the wcl network.
To completely remove your ad-hoc network, if desired:
Click on the apple menu.
Click on system preferences.
Click on network.
Highlight the network with the same name as your laptop.
