Confidentiality for Youth: Implications on Access to Sexual And Reproductive Health Care

Tuesday, June 24, 2014
2:00 - 3:00PM
American University Washington College of Law
4801 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington DC

This webinar will provide an overview of parental involvement laws relating to minors' access to health services (including abortion, contraception, prenatal care, STI/HIV testing and treatment). It will discuss the general steps to seeking a judicial bypass (which allows a minor to obtain approval for abortion care from a judge rather than from their parents) and cover common concerns minors express regarding confidentiality of information they share with medical providers.
