United Nations Committee Against Torture Project

Tuesday, February 7, 2012
12:10 PM - 01:15 PM
American University Washington College of Law, Room 603
4801 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC

The law school's UN Committee against Torture (UN CAT) Project is a one-of-a-kind experiential learning opportunity for selected upper-level JD students. Participants engage in a specialized fall seminar on the prohibition of torture under international law, as well as in the Project’s unique field component: accompanying UN CAT Chair/WCL Dean Claudio Grossman to the Committee's official session in Geneva, Switzerland, for one week in November. Dean Grossman, UN CAT Project Coordinator Jennifer de Laurentiis, WCL student participants and professors will discuss this remarkable opportunity as well as the application process and deadline for the 2012 Project.

Presented by the United National Committee against Torture Project
